Welcome to Dive Gear Reviews, a comprehensive guide to scuba diving equipment. Scuba diving is an expensive pursuit, so looking up reviews for a particular article of equipment is a wise precaution before investing any hard-earned money in it. However, consumer reviews may or may not be written by an experienced diver, and magazine reviews could be suspect due to the advertising ties of the publication in question. Dive Gear Reviews provides cross-referenced reviews assembled by an expert, making it possible to see at a glance what multiple sources said about a particular piece of scuba equipment. If one magazine loved a scuba regulator or a dive computer, but the consumers hated it, that information will be found here.

UK C8 eLED Plus Dive Light Review

Written by Dive Gear Reviews Editor. Comments Off on UK C8 eLED Plus Dive Light Review Posted in: Between $101-$250, Dive Lights

The C8 eLED Plus from Underwater Kinetics (UK) is a mid-sized, pistol-grip dive light. For divers who are unfamiliar with Underwater Kinetics, “UK” is an American and not a British company. The flashlight tube is 7 inches long and 3 inches wide, and the package weighs about a kilogram (2.2. lbs). The light comes from two 6-watt LED bulbs, and the trigger allows the user to set the beam to half-power (160 lumens) and full-power (250 lumens) as the circumstances require. The C8 eLED Plus draws power from eight C batteries, and has a burn time of about six hours at the full-power setting. With a depth rating of 500 feet, the C8 eLED Plus dive light can serve as an able primary dive light for both technical and recreational divers. Dive magazine described the dive light as “pretty good value for money,” and Scuba Diving endorsed it with Best Buy and Tester’s Choice recommendations. LeisurePro users loved the dive light as well, with the C8 eLED Plus earning 4-1/2 flags.
