Welcome to Dive Gear Reviews, a comprehensive guide to scuba diving equipment. Scuba diving is an expensive pursuit, so looking up reviews for a particular article of equipment is a wise precaution before investing any hard-earned money in it. However, consumer reviews may or may not be written by an experienced diver, and magazine reviews could be suspect due to the advertising ties of the publication in question. Dive Gear Reviews provides cross-referenced reviews assembled by an expert, making it possible to see at a glance what multiple sources said about a particular piece of scuba equipment. If one magazine loved a scuba regulator or a dive computer, but the consumers hated it, that information will be found here.

Aqua Lung Blades Flex 2 Scuba Fin Review

Aqualung’s Blades Flex 2 constitute above average dive fins in an average-looking package. Although the fin looks like a typical big paddle design with a minimum of frills, it manages slightly above-average speed and manueverability. Consumers simply adored the quick-release heel strap buckles, which have a hands-free feature enabling a diver to undo the strap by pressing on the buckle with the other heel. LeisurePro users rewarded this feature by giving the fins a 4.5-Flag rating. However, since the fins are negatively buoyant, this trick should not be tried in the water. Yet in spite of the negative buoyancy, the fins are fairly lightweight for a full-sized paddle fin and weigh in at a mere 2.2 lbs (1 kg). Overall, the Blades Flex 2 are a pretty basic pair of fins with a nice extra feature, and now that they have been on the market for a few years, the price has come down to match their real value.
