Welcome to Dive Gear Reviews, a comprehensive guide to scuba diving equipment. Scuba diving is an expensive pursuit, so looking up reviews for a particular article of equipment is a wise precaution before investing any hard-earned money in it. However, consumer reviews may or may not be written by an experienced diver, and magazine reviews could be suspect due to the advertising ties of the publication in question. Dive Gear Reviews provides cross-referenced reviews assembled by an expert, making it possible to see at a glance what multiple sources said about a particular piece of scuba equipment. If one magazine loved a scuba regulator or a dive computer, but the consumers hated it, that information will be found here.

Aqua Lung Express Scuba Fin Review

Written by Dive Gear Reviews Editor. Comments Off on Aqua Lung Express Scuba Fin Review Posted in: Below $100, Fins

Aqua Lung’s Express fin is a paddle fin with a wide-bladed design. Like almost all Aqua Lung fins, the Express is designed so the fulcrum point of the kicking action is centered on the middle of the foot and reduces strain on the toes and the ball of the foot. In front of the foot pocket is an armadillo membrane, which connects the pocket to the blade without allowing any water to pass through. It also creates an elastic, springy material that stores energy through a kick and gives it back at the end, making recovery much easier. The design and construction of the blade also has an eye on flexibility and springiness.

The full-foot version of this fin has always been popular with consumers, and Aqua Lung capitalized on that by introducing an open-heel version.

Average Price: Full-foot Express fins are usually priced at around $60. At the time of publication, the new open-heel version of these fins were too new to form an accurate picture of their pricing, and MSRP information was not available.
