Welcome to Dive Gear Reviews, a comprehensive guide to scuba diving equipment. Scuba diving is an expensive pursuit, so looking up reviews for a particular article of equipment is a wise precaution before investing any hard-earned money in it. However, consumer reviews may or may not be written by an experienced diver, and magazine reviews could be suspect due to the advertising ties of the publication in question. Dive Gear Reviews provides cross-referenced reviews assembled by an expert, making it possible to see at a glance what multiple sources said about a particular piece of scuba equipment. If one magazine loved a scuba regulator or a dive computer, but the consumers hated it, that information will be found here.

Mares Force Dive Knife Review

Written by Dive Gear Reviews Editor. Comments Off on Mares Force Dive Knife Review Posted in: Below $100, Dive Knives

The Mares Force (not to be confused with the Force Bat Titanium, which is a completely different knife) is a wicked-looking stainless steel dive knife with some extra features. The 4-inch (100 mm) blade has received a PVD treatment for extra rust-prevention. The blade is a single, dual-edged design, with serrations on the bottom and a standard cutting edge and point on the top. Opposite the main blade is a pronounced cutting notch. The sheath comes with a locking notch that mates with a tab on the blade, but there has been some complaints from consumers that this locking system is not the most secure. The hilt of the Mares Force knife has a hole for a lanyard, but like most dive knives, the Force does not come with one.
