Welcome to Dive Gear Reviews, a comprehensive guide to scuba diving equipment. Scuba diving is an expensive pursuit, so looking up reviews for a particular article of equipment is a wise precaution before investing any hard-earned money in it. However, consumer reviews may or may not be written by an experienced diver, and magazine reviews could be suspect due to the advertising ties of the publication in question. Dive Gear Reviews provides cross-referenced reviews assembled by an expert, making it possible to see at a glance what multiple sources said about a particular piece of scuba equipment. If one magazine loved a scuba regulator or a dive computer, but the consumers hated it, that information will be found here.

Promate Spartan Rubber Scuba Fins Review

Written by Dive Gear Reviews Editor. Comments Off on Promate Spartan Rubber Scuba Fins Review Posted in: Below $100, Fins

Promate is one of those lesser-known companies that you might never have heard of, but should have. There are some real gems in their product line, and the Spartan Rubber Fins are among them. In a nutshell, the Spartan Rubber Fin shares many of the same fundamental design characteristics as prestigious fins like the OMS Slipstream and APS Mantaray, but at about half the cost.

That bargain basement price isn’t achieved by producing an inferior product, either. Consumer feedback on the Promate Spartan has been overwhelmingly positive. As one might expect from a full-on artificial rubber fin, Spartans are heavy and tough. They are also agile, stable and produce plenty of thrust. As knock-off designs go, the Promate Spartan does an excellent job of aping the originals.

The bottom line on Promate’s Spartan Rubber Fins is that if you are shopping for new fins and are on a budget, these fins deliver upper-tier performance at a very low price. Very ordinary fins offered by better-known brand name companies are usually a little more expensive than this. Spartan fins are a real bang for your buck buy.
